Re: my Botox adventure
Thanks guys. Was very anxious. The journey alone was tough for me.
Have to wait 2/3 weeks now. Meanwhile my daughters told me my forehead looks like Angel from Buffy.
Fingers crossed I feel better tomorrow.

Re: my Botox adventure
I'm ok thanks. Feel off. Think it's my gut reacting to the stress and the TMJ which has caused most of the anxiety. Is bad. Nothing will stop the pain. It's awful.
I so hope this works. It could help the tmj too.
I met some nice people at the session.
5 of us, and some very nice doctors. See they are out there
Mine had to spend half his time holding my hand.
I think I may have bruised him

Re: my Botox adventure
I really hope this helps you. Did they inject your TMJ area to help it? I had botox injections, but I only had six, not like everyone who gets a lot of injections, so I didn't get a good trial.
So it takes a couple of weeks to work? They told me mine would work right away and then wear off. It sounds like the guy who did mine didn't know what he was talking about. But it was one of those people who do the surgery on the muscles.
How soon do you have to repeat it? I hope you get some relief from this. You really do suffer a lot with them.
Take care - Cathy

Re: my Botox adventure
I got 31 injections. You get them where they did them on the trial.
Yes 2/3 weeks usually to kick in. So far nothing. 10 days.
I have them 15+ a month so here's hoping..

Re: my Botox adventure
Me too witsy. Neuro and gp put me on daily triptans. No other idea how to deal with it. Damn thing has exacerbated my tmj. NO meds for that
Waiting now for it to get out of my system.

Re: my Botox adventure
oh, pen, so sorry to read about this worsening of symptoms. we are twins now, with the daily triptans! sometimes there are no other choices, especially when we have tried everything else out there, and then some.
at least the botox didn't make me worse, but it made my eyelids droop for 6 months. probably it was done wrong; this was several years ago, before many docs were proficient at doing it.
keep hangin' in there, ok? dianne

Re: my Botox adventure
I totally regret doing this. I would warn everyone that it can make your pain worse. No one told me that.
It isnt usual, but please just make sure you are aware.
I cant wait for it to get out of my body..
Dianne, I dont have droopy eyelid or anything.

Re: my Botox adventure
Just a catch up. Is 5 months from Botox. It didnt work at all, and I am left with 50% more migraines, and therefore triptans. And the tmj has never recovered.
My gp tells me triptans aren't meant to be taken like this. The neuro has abandoned me. I guess he wanted success not failures.
I am in a bad and place and don't know what to do, or where to turn
I asked the neuro so many times. Could the Botox make me worse. No no, it works or it doesn't
Well I know now it's not true. I so regret it.
My gp said don't regret it, you have to try these things.
Really ???? Wanna fee my intractable daily pain. Live my housebound life on the couch.
This has been the worst year of my life.

Re: my Botox adventure
Oh Pen, how awful. I wish I were wealthy so I could bring you over here. I think the only thing that will touch your pain is very heavy narcotics, which I know you can't get there, at least for migraines. And it would have to be IV or suppositories because your stomach probably couldn't tolerate the pills.
