then why is it that I have been migraine free since march and now the weather has turned, I can feel my head crumbling??

2 years in a row I have been migraine free all summer.

I've still had h/a pretty much every other day, but no migraine head.

I think because not everyone is effected Witsy.
And, which part of the weather is it causes it?

I have tracked the weather with my migraines and cant actually find a correlation.

I signed up to a thing called Mediclim which emails me when the weather is likely to make my head bad....guess what Witsy. Not been right once...

It would seem like everything else regarding migraine, there is no constancy or sense in it.

What in the autumn/winter weather do you think gives you trouble? Or is it the lack of daylight??

Sorry you are starting to suffer... Sad

I think it is unfair of 'them' to say it has NO effect on migraine when it does for some? Makes me sound like a fraudster when 'they' deny it Razz

I truly have no idea. I wish i did! It's a bit of a toss up really. Maybe I should invest in one of those Wake Up lights and see if it helps....

Thanks for your sympathies, I know you would kill to go migraine free as long as I did Sad

I sure would yes Sad But alas, 'tis not to be.

I agree they shouldnt state one way or the other.
We are all so different in symptoms, drugs, triggers.
What do they know.

I used to have SAD, but I took St John's Wort for two winters and it never came back. But As I cant track the migraines to the weather/season, no help there.

Check out the mediclim page here about migraine.

There is most certainly a link. Ever since I was 12 I've always had more migraines in the fall and spring when the weather fluctuates the most.

It's turned cold and dreary in my part of the world, which of course has brought on a nice head cold. Waiting for the 2nd phase to hit, a wonderful migraine.

If cold weather doesn't make you sick, why do colds and sinus problems occur when it's cold and wet?

Just asking...

They recon it's to do with central heating, it's on high in the winter and people gather together where it's warm which then creates a great environment for germs to grow and spread!!

On the migraine point, I agree with alli, I have the exact same problem come spring and autumn.

I had three sinus cavities closed off, the maxillary which is the largest and two smaller ones. When the barometer dropped they expanded which triggered migs. The barometer dropping usually brings in bad weather. I had surgery to open up and rebuild my sinuses and have not had any problems for almost two years.

I have a suspicion that others that have migraines triggered by barometric changes (weather, flying, going over high mountain passes) may have sinus issues. Our heads do not like to be inflated and deflated.

Makes sense Brent.
I have asked to be referred for my sinuses, and also my neck.
I have been refused.
I am going back to see another one of our GPs next week to try again. My head has been terrible since the end of October. I have no idea why. But my neck hurts like Hell.

Good to see you back Brent. We missed you.
How are all the critters?
We have a badger coming in the garden at night...

I hope you can get that ruled out. It took me two years to get diagnosed what I was highly suspicious of in the first place.

It's basic physics but I'm shocked at how many docs blew it off or didn't pick up on it. So I hope that anyone that associates air pressure changes with their migs gets it checked by multiple docs.

I fear that a lot of mig patients are needlessly suffering when an outpatient surgery could give them total relief. There are other elements of weather changes that are being looked into such as humidity, sudden temp changes and even too many positive ions in the air. They come from wind blowing across dry land and pick up a pos charge. Our bodies are negatively charged and pos electrons can make subtle changes. And I'm talking regular electrical pos and neg charges, not new age ethereal concepts.

pen, critters are all dong great, even the semi-wild ones. We are gong through 30-40 pounds a month of black oil seeds just for the pheasants, squirrels and chipmunks.

Do you have pics of the badger? We don't have a very big population of them here in WA State. Although they are finding a lot of evidence of wolverines up near the Canadian border. It's good to see them coming back.

Hi Brent, I can do no more than ask again. Referrals are getting harder to get here. I am told the GPs have to pay more for them now. If that is true, it has already effected one person...Me!!!

We have video of the badger, and one night as she trundled off (we figure she, but dont know), the fox appeared. That one we also figure she because of how she pees???

Since we sadly lost dear Saffy they are coming every night. Our night vision camera is only a cheap one, but it does allow us to see who is visiting.

I have had to stop feeding the hedgehogs though, because a hungry badger will eat a hedgehog..Sad

I think the apples attracted the Badger. We have had the largest crop ever of apples and my head is so bad, I have only managed to cook a few, and give a load away. My husband is juicing some too.

We sure dont have wolverines. Given where we live, I feel lucky to have a badger and a fox. Mind you the badger is wrecking the lawn digging for worms. And he/she dug a latrine....
