I saw this on my news thread too mg.

I am not impressed with them pushing preventatives.
From counts we did on Rondas, and here and FB.
They fail to help more than they do, and side effects take many of us off them

We need a dedicated preventative surely...

Yep. I agree. What I thought was interesting was that many of the things they had me try are not on the list. Especially lamicatal which was a nightmare for me. Maybe at least they are learning more about what doesn't work. Tired of being a guinea pig.

The thought of some of those "preventatives" gives me nightmares. The cure was definitely worst than the poison.

Yeah I'm nervous over what drug I'm going to get next... I've had most of them, and I'm allergic to tons of them... they general don't like people who suffer from migraines who are allergic to triptans lol!

I can hope, hope hope hope that by July botox is approved again and I can convince my doctor to give it to me lol

Sadly Loki, if the reports are anything to go by, it isnt looking good for Botox. I think we should just get what we need. They all say how awful migraine is, so bloody well fix it then!!!!!!!!! Anyway we can...

I took the article: Evidence-based guideline update: NSAIDs and other complementary treatments for episodic migraine prevention in adults : Report of the Quality Standards Subcommittee of the
American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society, to my doc yesterday because I wanted to talk to him about the butterbur and the histamine shots. I am no longer willing to take the heavy duty meds that are on the list of preventatives but after taking a long medication holiday I am willing to try some "gentler" treatments. I am going to start on the butterbur and see how that goes and then later this year I told him I want to try the histamine shots.

I don't think from what I read that the butterbur will help with my odd aura symptoms but it might help with the pain!
